Fire and Emergency New Zealand Levy Price Changes

From 1 July 2024, there will be some Government changes that will impact your premiums due to price increases to the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Levy.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand Levy

From the 1st July 2024 the levy that insurers collect on behalf of FENZ will increase as follows:

Current New – effective 1 July 2024
Where there is an insurance contract against the risk of fire 10.60c per $100 sum insured 11.95c per $100 sum insured
Motor vehicles under 3.5t gross laden weight $8.45 per vehicle. $9.53 per vehicle.
Residential buildings and contents Normal levy rate to a maximum of:
Buildings: $106.00
Contents: $21.20
Normal levy rate to a maximum of:
Buildings: $119.50
Contents: $23.90
